Your Favourite Photograph, Transformed into a Signature Ballpoint-Style Birch Engraving
Pets, people and treasured old photographs are individually prepared and engraved into real Birch, creating a portrait that keeps the person or animal recognisable exactly as you know them.
Made individually by The Lumière Studio in West Wales
The aim isn’t to reproduce a photograph exactly — it is to capture the likeness, character and feeling of the original in a completely different medium.

Finished Birch Engraving
From Photograph to Engraving
Every piece begins with your photograph. I prepare it individually in my signature ballpoint-style treatment, then translate it into an engraving that works with the natural grain and character of the Birch.
